About Even Better Insurance

Meet Evan—your Medicare guide.

Independent, licensed, and local. I founded Even Better Insurance because I believe choosing Medicare coverage shouldn't feel like a sales pitch—it should feel like getting honest answers from someone in your corner.

Why I started Even Better

I've watched family members and friends struggle through Medicare. Phone trees that loop. Letters with fine print. Pushy agents pushing one carrier. Online tools that ask for your zip code and somehow still don't know what's actually available where you live.

None of it is built for the person actually trying to make a decision.

So I started Even Better Insurance with one rule: leave people better off than you found them. That's the entire business model. If I can answer your questions clearly, compare every plan available in your area, and help you enroll in the one that actually fits—you stay a client for life. And life is a long time in Medicare. Plans change every year. Your health changes. Your prescriptions change. I want to be the call you make when any of that happens.

The Founding Principle

"Leave people better off than you found them."

— What Even Better is built on. Every conversation, every year.

What you can actually expect

Three steps. No paperwork. Most clients are enrolled in under a week.

No cost to you

You'll never pay us a dollar. Carriers pay standardized commissions—same regardless of which plan you choose—so we have zero reason to steer you anywhere.

Multi-carrier review

I'm an independent agent appointed with multiple major carriers. Not a captive agent for one company. We compare what's available in your zip code—not what one company sells.

Lifetime support

After enrollment, I'm still your point of contact. Plan questions, billing issues, an annual review—you call me directly, not a 1-800 number.

How a first conversation goes

Most people are surprised by how relaxed it is. Here's the actual structure:

  1. You tell me what's going on. Are you turning 65? Retiring? Already on Medicare and want to switch? Helping a parent? I take notes.
  2. I ask about doctors and prescriptions. The two things that determine whether a plan actually fits you.
  3. I pull plans available in your zip code. All of them I'm appointed for. We compare side-by-side—premiums, deductibles, your specific drugs, your specific doctors.
  4. You decide on your timeline. No same-day enrollment pressure. People often need a week to think it through. That's fine.
  5. If you enroll, we file the paperwork together. You get a copy of everything. I keep your file for the next time we talk.

One thing I won't do: tell you a plan is "best." There is no objectively best plan—there's the one that fits your doctors, your drugs, your budget, and your tolerance for paperwork. My job is to lay out the tradeoffs honestly so you can pick.

Compliance you can verify

Medicare insurance is heavily regulated by the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) for good reason—seniors are too often the target of bad actors. Here's how I stay accountable:

  • California-licensed insurance producer (License #6014079). You can verify any California agent at CDI's Agent Lookup.
  • AHIP-certified annually. Required to sell Medicare Advantage and Part D. Recertify every year.
  • Carrier-certified with each company I represent. Each carrier requires their own annual training.
  • Calls are recorded per CMS rules, with your verbal consent at the start. Recordings are retained 10 years.
  • Scope of Appointment documents on file before any plan-specific discussion, also per CMS.
  • No outbound cold calls. If you didn't ask to be contacted, you won't hear from me.

Service area

Based in Huntington Beach, I serve Los Angeles, Orange, Riverside, San Bernardino, and San Diego counties in person, and the rest of California (and most other states) over video. If you'd rather meet at a coffee shop in your neighborhood, I'll come to you. If you'd rather do everything by phone or Zoom, that works too. Your call.

What clients say

The real proof isn't in marketing copy—it's in the relationships. Read reviews on Yelp, Facebook, and Google. I won't cherry-pick quotes here—go look for yourself.
